The Contour USB glucose meter by Bayer HealthCare is a unique testing experience. The Contour USB meter comes with a plug & play diabetes management software for your home PC. Small but powerful, this small blood glucose meter will hold up to 2,000 glucose test results and works with Bayer's GLUCOFACTS DELUXE software to help you discover important insights into your diabetes management care. This small Contour USB with its LED screen in high-contrast colors has such a fresh design that it doesn't look like a medical device at all. In fact, the Contour USB meter looks very similar to a digital media storage flash drive. The port where the test strips are inserted is marked orange. The large LED display screen on the Contour USB belies its compact size.

I really like the Contour USB meter. I found a website online http://www.freecontourusbmeter.com and they gave me a Contour USB meter with my first order of testing supplies. What's really cool is they now send my supplies to my house and deal with my insurance company.... Love it!

A great meter! I've had it a year now and have charged it maybe 3 times, using it at least 6 times a day. Other meters would have had battery changes at least once during that time. The other good things are noted above. I'm not sure how you could make this meter any better unless you could test without pricking your finger (maybe the next model). Also, there's no coding (or micro-chip needed for this purpose) which makes it even faster and easier. Blood application is simple and consistent - I don't think I've wasted 3 strips in a year due to not having it in properly or not enough of a sample. Software produces great graphs and lists data in a logical sequence - and all this without another cord hanging around due to its USB connection.

Pros Quick readings, easy to use, small in size, easy to set before and after meal flags, rechargeable battery with extreemly long time between charges, no cords.
Cons Only thing that would be nice is an option to have the screen change for left handed or right handed use - It's a really small thing, but I find I always have to flip it upside down to place the blood on it - again, definately not a show stopper but technically, would be easy to program on the device.

I needed a meter that had easy software for my readings and this meter fits the bill..I was hesitant at first of using this meter after reading the reviews dealing with the windows 7 software issues...My first attempt failed to load but after loading the suggested java update and downloading into the USB meter memory storage, it works fine..don't be intimitated by all the steps to get your meter set-up..take your time and read what you have to do to install...

 

This is by far the easiest and most advanced meter I have ever used.

I have tried a number of meters over the years including Freestyle and the regular Bayer Contour meter. I love this one! It is small, and you just have to press a button to indicate if the value is before or after a meal. You just plug the meter into your USB port and it downloads the values automatically and charges the meter while it is plugged in. It includes software which graphs your values and shows you trends to keep track of how you are doing. This is by far the easiest and most advanced meter I have ever used. I highly recommend it!

I've had this new meter for about 6 weeks and it has been great,small,color display, and the USB connection is far easier than keeping up with yet another cable in the writhing mass of gadget cables we all seem to collect.
